Powell River

The project we worked on at the Powell River generating station was exciting but challenging for a few different reasons. First, it’s remote location off the coast of British Columbia made it difficult to access. We had to take 3 separate ferries with all our equipment just to get to site. And second, the scope of the projects and equipment required was quite substantial. We had to machine the face and bore of a 9’, 8’ and 7’ flange within .004” across their diameter. We also had a massive, 40” in diameter line boring job where we had to machine both the valve seat and top bore in a pressure relief valve.
